Hailing from the Mid-Victorian era comes this incredible antique Silver Pierced Book Chain Collar Necklace. Hand pierced to perfection, this amazing necklace boasts intricate links, each sawed by hand and flawlessly finished. As a bench jeweler myself, I can’t even begin to describe the amount of time it takes to drill the individual components in each link only to then meticulously saw the design one at a time and file them smooth. This is an absolute work of art made with expert craftsmanship and skill.
This piece can be worn in a variety of ways and is even more fabulous since it’s complete with 2 original silver bolt ring clasps that can be taken off and used for other neck stack purposes. A super wearable length of 19.5” when worn as one continuous chain or can be worn as a lariat style to hang a locket, pendant or grouping of charms. It can also have the 2” extension and one bolt clasp removed to be worn as a 18” chain. So many options with this uber versatile necklace!!! Not hallmarked but the sliver tests just above 900 so although I can’t say it’s true Sterling, it’s definitely close enough. Total weight is 14.7 grams and it’s in phenomenal condition with no crushed, bent or broken links.
