This Antique late Georgian or early Victorian Enamel Snake Necklace is something in whichiỊive been desperately searching for the last number of years and this one absolutely took my breath away!.. Crafted from 20k RICH yellow gold (XRF tested between 19.9-20.5k) and in phenomenal condition for its age. The bright cobalt-colored enamel head contrasts the yellow gold beautifully and is adorned with 2 saltwater pearls and 2 ruby cabochon eyes on either side. A full set of tiny teeth is just the kind of detail that make pieces like this unmatched in this day and age.
At 17.5" in length, he's great for stacking or standing out solo and the detailing along the scale links is just FABULOUS. Total weight is 37.5 grams. There's some slight loss to the enamel at the crown of the head where the center pearl sits but not super noticeable unless you're looking for it. Completed with a small safety chain for extra security so he doesn't go slithering off your neck unexpectedly. He would have originally had an enamel heart hanging from his mouth and I'm searching for one to add but think he looks just fantastic without it as the open bail looks exactly like a little tongue coming out of his mouth!!!
