This antique Victorian Monogram Brooch is expertly crafted in 14-18k gold & silver and set with a fantastic array of old rose cut Diamonds with an estimate of just under 1.5cttw.
The letters are up for debate… I thought it was to C’s back to back but upon closer examination I’m not sure if the one on the left is a C or something else? Could be a J? An O? I’m not totally sure but the wonderful thing about these old script letters is that many can be left to your own interpretation. Any suggestions or ideas are very much appreciated!!! It’s almost identical to the right except for one small area that curves into the center from the outside.
Measures 22mm x 23mm and has a total weight of 6.05 grams. The pin on the back is removable and screws off so if you wanted to add a bale this piece could be easily converted to a pendant. It’s in incredible condition for its age and has a beautiful dark patina throughout the front and the back making the diamonds dance like sparkling stars in the night sky.
