ANTIQUE • Victorian 13k Yellow Gold Book Chain Necklace w/ Engraved Box Clasp

These antique Victorian Book Chain necklaces in solid gold are one of my absolute favorite items to find and each day they are becoming increasingly more difficult to source. In my opinion they’re one of the most quintessential pieces for any antique jewelry lovers collection. 

Crafted from solid 13k yellow gold with the most gorgeous patina and stamped decorative pattern. I love how the patina gets darker in the recessed parts and creates a contrast that allows the design on each link to really stand out. This one takes it to the next level with floral shaped end-caps and a beautifully engraved box clasp complete with dangling spring ring at the bottom - perfect for easily switching out any pendants or charms of your choosing.

Total length is 17.5” so it’s super wearable if you’re not into the choker look or you’re like me and don’t have a super slim neck. The chain itself is not marked but XRF tested for gold content (12.8k) and the spring ring is marked 10k on the backside. There’s a small kink on the back of one of the links that isn’t visible from the front but instead of removing it and causing the length to be shorter I decided to leave it as is. Weight is 10.9 grams.
